We’re looking for an experienced leader who is looking to take their next step into a rewarding and fulfilling position as Senior Engineering Manager, looking after our great team at our depots in south east Scotland.
Introducing 30 brand new electric vehicles, we will give you exciting opportunities to mould your team to your experience and knowledge while continuing to provide excellent bus services to our communities with the balance of our modern fleet, including Mercedes, Alexander Dennis, Wrightbus and Volvo vehicles. We also have a number of Volvo and Mercedes coaches for our expanding in house holiday and Flixbus operations.
Without question we will expect you to ensure your vehicles are repaired to the highest standard and all health and safety requirements are met. We expect you to be able to move your team forward, with the help of our in house training academy to develop your team around your skills and experience. Our modern fleet of vehicles will give you a real chance to reduce our carbon footprint and work towards fulfilling real environmental change.
What we need from you as our next Senior Engineering Manager
.Ensure completion of inspection, defect, mileage, KPI, wages and audit reports using the internal documents as per the McGill’s internal reporting policies.
· Audit and report defects found on vehicles that have undergone repair as part of the McGill’s audit process.
· Check vehicle history files and report anomalies in reports, vehicle inspection periods or repeat defects that are found in those records.
· Maintain inspection records and report any issues that may be deemed a contravention of company policy.
· Keep up to date with current engineering, health, safety and environmental legislation and related best practice in meeting roadworthiness standards.
· Support the team when required to fault find and diagnose faults on vehicles as required by the Group Engineering Director.
Qualifications
· Hold a suitable engineering qualification – Degree/HND/HNC/C&G Level 2 (or equivalent)
· Good business and excellent communication skills
· 3+yrs experience of people management
