This Senior Consultant role sits at the intersection of analytics, consulting and data engineering, where you will lead delivery and help organisations across education, local government and the not-for-profit sector make better evidence-based decisions.
You will join a mission-led UK consultancy specialising in data, analytics and technology for public sector and social impact organisations. The team partners with local authorities, education providers and charities to design and deliver data platforms, dashboards and analytical tools that support policy, service improvement and operational decision-making.
As a Senior Consultant, you will lead the design and delivery of data solutions across education and public sector clients. You will combine technical depth with consulting capability, supporting the full lifecycle from requirements gathering through to build, implementation and optimisation.
You will develop dashboards, build data models and automate data pipelines while ensuring outputs are accurate, scalable and aligned to client needs. You will also mentor junior consultants and contribute to improving technical standards across the team.
This role includes exposure to data platform development, reporting automation initiatives and analytical products used by multiple public sector organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of Power BI, Tableau and Excel analytics solutions
- Design SQL-based data models and optimise database structures
- Build automated data pipelines using APIs and scripting tools
- Deliver statistical analysis including forecasting and regression
- Advise clients on reporting, data strategy and process improvement
- Translate technical outputs into clear insights for stakeholders
- Support and mentor junior consultants
- Contribute to proposals and client development activities

Must-Have
- Client-facing experience in data, analytics or consultancy
- Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQL Server)
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar tools
- Strong understanding of data modelling and databases
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience in public sector, education, charity or not-for-profit
