- Kitchen Assistant

Available Roles Weekend Cook
- £14.35 per hour (reviewed annually)
- Weekend enhancements paid
- Permanent contract
- 20 hours per week
- Saturday & Sunday shifts
About the Cook Role
We are looking for an experienced cook who is confident in preparing nutritious, home-style meals within a care setting.
You will be responsible for planning and preparing freshly cooked meals that meet residents' dietary needs and preferences, supporting their wellbeing and helping to create enjoyable mealtimes throughout the home. Experience of catering for a variety of dietary requirements and working within food hygiene standards is essential.
Cook Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfasts, lunches, and light evening meals
- Provide two lunch options plus desserts
- Bake cakes for birthdays and special occasions
- Cater for both residents and staff
- Support residents’ dietary and nutritional needs
- Maintain high food hygiene and kitchen standards
- Help create a warm and positive dining experience
Kitchen Assistant
- £13.45 per hour
- Weekend enhancements paid
- Permanent contract
- 31.5 hours per week
About the Kitchen Assistant Role
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the smooth running of the kitchen while helping prepare nutritious meals for residents and staff.
Previous experience is helpful but not essential - what matters most is a positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine passion for supporting older people.
Kitchen Assistant Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation and meal service
- Support residents’ dietary requirements, including modified diets
- Wash dishes and clean kitchen equipment
- Maintain excellent kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
- Assist with deliveries and stock storage
- Follow food safety, health & safety, and infection control procedures
- Work positively as part of a caring and supportive team

Experience:
- Previous cook experience preferred for the Cook role
