SEN Teaching Assistant – Cardiff
Now Education is currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant in Cardiff to support pupils with Autism and Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in a supportive school environment. This SEN Teaching Assistant role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with children with special educational needs and want to make a meaningful difference in education.
This is a temporary to permanent opportunity for the right candidate.
While working with Now Education, staff also have the opportunity to work during school holidays and half terms at our holiday play schemes, providing additional work opportunities.
Key Responsibilities – SEN Teaching Assistant
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
- Support children with Autism and other learning needs in the classroom.
- Assist the teacher with classroom activities and learning support.
- Help implement individual learning strategies and support plans.
- Support pupils with engagement, behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents and other education professionals.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Provide personal care support where required.
Requirements – SEN Teaching Assistant
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally with SEN / ALN / Autism.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion for supporting children with additional learning needs.
- Understanding of SEN, Autism or behavioural needs is desirable.
- A patient, compassionate and proactive approach.
