Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate and self-motivated individual to join our operational delivery team. The successful applicant will possess an in-depth knowledge of the Finance sector with experience in delivering Financial Services Administrator, Mortgage Advisor, Insurance Practitioner, Paraplanner and Financial Advisor apprenticeships.
The standards are delivered individually and in small cohorts. The Finance Tutor will be allocated a caseload of learners and will travel to apprentices workplaces to deliver skills and knowledge as well as deliver remote sessions, in line with the required apprenticeship standards.
The tutor will be responsible for the delivery and monitoring of apprentices on programme, supporting the development of knowledge, skills and behaviours and to prepare apprentices for exams and the end point assessment. In addition, the trainer will be responsible for supporting the development of learning material for the standards allocated.
The successful applicant must have excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for developing learners to achieve excellence in their learning and work.
The successful applicant may also be required to deliver education and training through our other funding streams as required.
Main Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure that learners are provided with information, advice and guidance, regarding but not limited to, their programme of learning, career aspirations, health and wellbeing etc
- To ensure delivery of the apprenticeship programme creates a positive learning environment that is learner centred, structured, progressive and engaging.
- To embed equality and diversity, health and safety, safeguarding and British Values into all apprenticeship delivery.
- To deliver high quality apprenticeship standards to apprentices achieving minimum standards of timely success.
- Adhere to all Skillcert policies and procedures as well as DfE, Ofsted, Apprenticeship Assessment Organisations, Awarding Bodies and any other funder’s requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of Education Inspection Framework in relation to the requirements of Quality of Education
- To support apprentices remotely and through visits to enable them to achieve their best performance.
- To establish positive working relationships with clients.
- To accurately track and report all planned learning with the apprentices against their individual learning plan and in preparation for end point assessment.
- To continually monitor, analyse and evaluate all sessions in order to adapt and improve on previous delivery.
- To provide appropriate course exit information to encourage and enable learners to continue progressing and developing
- Engage with training and support opportunities with includes attending and contributing to standardisation and CPD.
- To ensure the health, safety and welfare policies and procedures are adhered to both Skillcert and whilst observing candidates in their workplace.
- To contribute to the curriculum design and learning material for the programme that engages and challenges learners to develop new skills and knowledge in their vocational area, as well as enabling them to develop their wider skills.
- To undertake such other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post, and to assist Skillcert in the fulfilment of its overall objectives, commensurate with the role.
Qualifications/Experience
Essential
- Extensive industry experience across the financial sector
· Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (Level 4) or Diploma in Paraplanning (Level 4)
- Hold a recognised teaching qualification such as Level 3/4 Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS); Level 5 Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS); Post Graduate Certificate in Education; or equivalent)
Desirable
· Chartered Financial Planner (Level 6) or the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (Level 3)
- Have successfully taught and assessed learners on apprenticeships and understand the apprenticeship sector.
- Have a working knowledge of OFSTED, DfE, Apprenticeship Assessment and Awarding Organisation’s requirements
- Have experience of delivering the Finance apprenticeship standards
- Have up-to-date working knowledge and experience of best practice in assessment and tutoring.
- Have experience of safeguarding best practice
- Experience of using e-portfolios.

- Understanding of inclusive learning, role and responsibilities of a tutor and teaching approaches in education.

- Application of the role and skills of an effective educator.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people using various approaches to learning and different types of media. Must have excellent presentation skills and have the ability deliver complex information in a highly accessible way.
