Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class 1 General Haulage Driver to operate during the late shift. appox 2pm starts, Shifts Avible Monday to Sunday depending on individual requirements. This role involves transporting goods efficiently and safely across various routes, primarily utilising flatbed vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving experience, particularly in commercial settings, and have a keen focus on safety and professionalism. This position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers to contribute to a dynamic logistics team while maintaining a flexible late shift schedule.
Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 lorries, including flatbed vehicles, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance before each journey
- Load and secure cargo on flatbeds, ensuring items are properly fastened for transit
- Deliver goods to designated locations punctually, maintaining accurate delivery documentation
- Assist with the unloading process at delivery sites when required
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and delivery records in accordance with legal requirements
- Report any vehicle issues or accidents promptly to the appropriate personnel
- Follow all health and safety protocols during loading, transit, and unloading activities
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver specialising in flatbed haulage or general freight delivery
- Demonstrable knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, with a track record of punctuality and reliability
- Familiarity with operating flatbed vehicles and securing cargo effectively
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence with no restrictions or endorsements that would impede driving duties
- Prior experience working during late shifts is advantageous but not essential; flexibility is appreciated
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently across multiple deliveries
Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
