Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Hotel General Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our 30-bedroom hotel with a well-established and busy food and beverage business. The successful candidate will be a highly visible leader, responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, maintaining operational excellence, developing a motivated team, and ensuring the hotel continues to strengthen its reputation within the local community and visitor market.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership across all departments, including accommodation, restaurant, bar, events, housekeeping, and maintenance. Working closely with the Regional Manager, the General Manager will ensure company standards are consistently achieved while fostering a positive and engaging culture for both guests and employees.
Operational Management
* Lead the daily operation of the hotel, ensuring high standards across all departments.
* Maintain a strong presence throughout the business, supporting teams and engaging with guests.
* Ensure smooth and efficient service delivery across accommodation, food and beverage, and events.
* Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance the customer experience.
* Ensure the hotel consistently meets brand and operational standards.
Food & Beverage Leadership
* Work closely with the Head Chef and F&B Manager and team to deliver a high-quality food and beverage experience.
* Drive service standards within the restaurant, bar, and function areas.
* Support the development of seasonal offers, events, and initiatives that enhance the guest experience.
* Ensure compliance with licensing, food safety, and hygiene regulations.
Team Leadership and Development
* Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members across all departments.
* Create a positive and inclusive working environment that encourages high performance.
* Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
* Support succession planning and identify development opportunities for key team members.
* Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellent customer service.
Guest Experience
* Act as the hotel’s ambassador, building strong relationships with guests and local stakeholders.
* Handle guest concerns professionally and ensure prompt resolution of issues.
* Drive continuous improvement in guest satisfaction and online reputation.
* Encourage a culture where exceptional hospitality is at the heart of every guest interaction.
Compliance and Property Standards
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety, employment, licensing, and food hygiene legislation.
* Oversee maintenance and housekeeping standards to ensure the property is presented to the highest level.
* Conduct regular inspections and implement corrective actions where required.
* Manage emergency procedures and ensure staff are appropriately trained.
Commercial Awareness
* Support the Regional Manager in achieving operational and business objectives.
* Monitor labour scheduling and departmental efficiencies.
* Identify opportunities to increase guest satisfaction, repeat business, and local engagement.
* Contribute to sales initiatives, local partnerships, and promotional activities.
Essential Experience
* Previous experience as a Hotel General Manager, Operations Manager, Deputy General Manager, or similar senior hospitality leadership role.
* Strong background in food and beverage operations.
* Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
* Excellent understanding of guest service standards and operational best practice.
* Experience managing multiple departments within a hotel environment.

Pay: £45,000.00-£48,500.00 per year
