Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Waiter or waitress to join our hospitality team. The candidate has to have previously experienced working in restaurant industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest service, taking orders, and ensuring a smooth dining experience. A background in hospitality or restaurant service is preferred, along with a passion for food and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are noted
- Serve food and drinks promptly, maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to during service
- Assist with basic food preparation when required, supporting the kitchen team as needed
- Clear tables efficiently and assist in maintaining a tidy dining area throughout service
- Provide attentive guest services, addressing any special requests or concerns promptly
- Manage multiple tables effectively through excellent time management skills
Skills
- Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant service is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling
- Ability to perform basic maths accurately for billing and order processing
- Good understanding of food preparation processes and culinary terminology
- Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, approachable manner
- Effective time management skills to handle busy service periods smoothly
- Experience with upselling techniques to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue
- Kitchen experience or culinary background is a plus but not essential
- Organised, reliable, and able to work well within a team environment
