Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Accounts Apprentice to join our finance team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills in accounting and financial administration within a professional environment. The successful candidate will assist with various accounting tasks, gaining valuable experience in financial processes and software systems. This paid role is ideal for individuals aspiring to build a career in finance or accounting.
Working hours Mon-Fri (9am to 5pm) with a 30 minute lunch break.
Day release to study AAT Level 2 at college.
Responsibilities
- Assist with data entry and maintenance of financial records using Xero
- Responsible for checking and posting supplier invoices
- Responsible for checking and posting self-employed staff invoices
- Check and reconcile supplier statements
- Make supplier and self-employed staff payments
- Responsible for maintaining bank reconciliations up to date
- Assist with any self-employed staff payment queries
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data entered into the system
- Support the team with general administrative tasks
Skills
- Maths & English GSCE (C/4 or above) required.
- High attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Ability to work accurately under supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Eagerness to learn about financial services and accounting practices
