Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Electrical Contractors Stores Person/Buyer to join our team. This role involves managing the procurement, inventory, and supply chain processes for electrical components and materials essential to our operations. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring the timely availability of supplies, maintaining optimal stock levels, and fostering strong relationships with suppliers. Experience with ERP systems and stock management software. Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities for electrical parts and materials in accordance with project requirements and company standards.
- Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure the best value while maintaining quality standards.
- Coordinate logistics and supply chain activities to ensure timely delivery of materials to various sites.
- Maintain organised stockrooms and ensure all items are correctly labelled and stored according to safety regulations.
- Analyse inventory data to forecast future needs and optimise stock levels through effective merchandising strategies.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand material requirements and resolve procurement issues swiftly.
- Monitor supplier performance and develop strong professional relationships to enhance service quality and reliability.
Requirements
- Proven experience in procurement or store management within an electrical or construction environment or Electrical wholesalers
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favourable terms from suppliers.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Good understanding of electrical components and materials used in contracting projects.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal teams. This role is ideal for a motivated professional seeking to develop their career within procurement and supply chain management in the electrical contracting industry.
Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
