Overview
CHE Intercultural Exchange is looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and culturally aware EFL Instructors / Activity Leaders to join us for seasonal programmes in multiple locations around the UK. We are currently prioritising our programmes in and around Essex, specifically Harlow & Chelmsford.
As an EFL Instructor, you'll deliver short-term English programmes to visiting Japanese school groups. Lessons are practical and communicative, designed to help students use English in real-world settings. You will also act as a Activity Leader, accompanying them on visits to local attractions, offering cultural insights and ensuring safety.
Please note all our programmes are non-residential and EFL teachers are expected to commute to and from their study centres.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, interactive English lessons tailored to daily life in the UK
- Introduce students to UK customs, safety tips, local currency, and cultural etiquette
- Prepare students for excursions by teaching about destinations and local history
- Accompany groups on walking tours and excursions
- Maintain lesson schedules and communicate clearly with students and staff
What Were Looking For
- A positive, flexible attitude and genuine enjoyment of working with young people
- Experience teaching English or leading youth groups (CELTA, Trinity TESOL, or equivalent preferred)
- Ability to build confidence and participation - especially in shy students
- Excellent cultural awareness, and classroom management (experience teaching in Japan or teaching Japanese learners preferred)
- Reliable, communicative, and professional team players who work well alongside fellow instructors/staff
- All candidates will be asked to complete a DBS Check supplied by CHE
Job Details
- Contract type: Seasonal 1-2 week contracts during school holidays (summer, winter, spring)
- Location: We currently operate programmes in multiple UK locations, including Essex, London and Birmingham. Even if you're not based in these areas, we still encourage you to apply as we frequently expand our programmes across the UK. We are currently prioritising Summer Contracts in Harlow, Chelmsford and Havering.

Pay: £120.00-£140.00 per day
