Class 2 HGV Driver Required – Groupage Work in Ballymena
Job Type: Full-time
- Driving an 18t curtain-sided Vehicle
- 7:00am start Monday to Friday
- Saturday mornings available as overtime
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 2 HGV vehicles, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, ensuring timely arrival at destinations
- Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, ensuring items are properly secured during transit
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and records
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays
- Comply with all health and safety regulations, including driving hours and rest period requirements
Duties
- Carry out daily collections throughout the day
- Complete multi-distance delivery runs
- Load and unload goods at customer sites as required
- Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and records
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times
Requirements
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence with a clean driving record
- Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous multi-drop experience preferred
- Good communication and time-management skills
- Understanding of driving regulations and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing workloads
Additional Requirements
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure cargo handling
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
