Mobile HGV Technician – Milton Keynes & Surrounding Areas
Location: Milton Keynes + 30–40 mile radius
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £45,000 basic per annum + overtime + company van + fuel card
Hours: Monday to Friday (40–45 hours per week)
About the Role
Elite Work Force Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Mobile HGV Technician to support fleet customers across Milton Keynes and the surrounding region. This role is ideal for a self-sufficient engineer who enjoys working independently, solving problems on the road, and delivering high‑quality maintenance and repair services.
You will attend customer sites, roadside breakdowns, and carry out scheduled maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of commercial vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mobile servicing, repairs, and diagnostics on HGVs, trailers, and LCVs
- Attend roadside breakdowns and deliver safe, efficient repairs
- Complete PMIs, MOT preparation, and defect rectification to DVSA standards
- Maintain accurate job cards, service sheets, and digital reporting
- Communicate effectively with customers, fleet teams, and service managers
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with manufacturer and DVSA guidelines
- Maintain the mobile service van, tools, and equipment to a high standard
Requirements
- Level 3 NVQ / IMI in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician or Mobile Engineer
- Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills
- Full UK Driving Licence (Class 1 beneficial but not essential)
- Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
- Strong communication and customer service skills
