Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Night Operations Supervisor to oversee warehouse activities during the overnight shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing logistics, ensuring efficient materials handling, and maintaining safety standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with warehouse management systems to optimise operational performance. The Night Operations Supervisor plays a crucial part in coordinating shipping and receiving processes, implementing process improvements, and supervising team members to meet operational targets effectively.
Shift:
- Monday to Friday
- 16:00 - 01:00 (45 Hours Per Week)
Duties
- Supervise the receipt, movement, sortation, and dispatch of freight across the network
- Lead, motivate, and support a team within a busy warehouse environment
- Coordinate logistics activities within the warehouse management system (WMS) to optimise workflow and accuracy.
- Lead and manage a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback including team briefings and 1-2-1s.
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all activities.
- Ensure MHE/FLT equipment is compliant, maintained, and safely operated
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to facilitate smooth operations.
- Maintain accurate shipping & receiving documentation and ensure timely dispatch of goods.
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse management or logistics roles.
- Strong background in materials handling, shipping & receiving, and warehouse operations.
- Experience operating forklifts.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms.
- Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to lead a diverse workforce during night shifts.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Previous experience in logistics or supply chain management is highly desirable.
