Hours: 45 per week. 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday with a 1-hour break each day plus 1-in-3 Saturdays 07:00am to 01:00pm at overtime.
Salary: £35,568.00 per annum. (£15.20 phr)
Role overview:
As our Parts Supervisor, you’ll take ownership of the Parts Department operations on site and keep everything running smoothly day to day. Working closely with the Site Manager, you’ll help set the department’s objectives and make sure they’re delivered — leading the team, supporting the workshop and retail counter, and keeping standards high across service, compliance and performance. You’ll also liaise regularly with the Group Aftersales Manager and other Sites and departments to ensure the wider business stays aligned and our customers get the fast, reliable support they expect.
Main purpose of the role
· Work with the Site Manager to set and achieve Parts Department objectives
· Lead, motivate and support the team of parts advisors and coordinate the Parts operation to deliver excellent customer service, compliance and performance.
· Ensure the retail counter is staffed at all times and customers are served efficiently and promptly
· Order parts daily in line with Company and Manufacturer guidelines, keeping VOR ordering to an absolute minimum where possible
· Ensure parts stock receipts and returns are processed daily
· Compliance & manufacturer standards
· Action all Company and Manufacturer requirements and systems, including (but not limited to): RIMS / CORS / TRP, PDRs & Stock checks
· Support the manufacturer’s 24-hour recovery and warranty policies in line with the manufacturer charter.
· Develop the department’s customer base by supporting and implementing an effective sales plan (with other departments and the manufacturer)
· Monitor and improve departmental profitability, including Stock holding levels and Customer deliveries.
· Identifying opportunities and implementing action plans
· Review monthly financial performance with the Site Manager
· Agree and deliver personal objectives with the Site Manager
· Support recruitment by attending interviews alongside the Site Manager and HR as required.
· Support performance management for staff you supervise
· Ensure staff presentation and uniform standards are maintained at all times
· Establish and maintain admin procedures and policies, including Manufacturer order levels, Warranty policy, Cash/payment controls, Credit control policy, Stocking levels and obsolescence, WIP
· Manage internal and external correspondence promptly and professionally
· Ensure reception and displays meet manufacturer quality objectives
· Handle and support resolution of all customer complaints within the Parts Department to achieve mutual satisfaction
· Maintain strong merchandising and consistently high housekeeping standards
· Carry out the instructions/directions of the Site Manager relating to Health & Safety and safe departmental operation
About You
· Existing Parts Advisor experience in a commercial vehicle dealership is essential.
· Confident leading a team and coordinating daily operations
· Strong understanding of parts ordering, stock control, receipts/returns and compliance processes
· Commercial awareness and ability to contribute to profitability and performance improvements
· Customer-focused with the ability to resolve complaints professionally
· Organised, responsive and able to work across departments
· Kerridge experience is desirable
