Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced KS2 Teacher with Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) responsibilities to join our vibrant primary school team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons to Key Stage 2 pupils, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment, and supporting students with diverse needs. Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in accordance with the national curriculum for KS2 pupils.
- Manage behaviour effectively to create a respectful and conducive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing tailored support to meet individual learning needs.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil achievement and behaviour, reporting as required.
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring safeguarding policies are rigorously followed and safeguarding concerns are appropriately addressed.
- Coordinate SEND provision, working closely with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support pupils with special educational needs.
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and carers to promote a collaborative approach to education.
- Organise and participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as required.
- Uphold the school’s behaviour management policies consistently across the year group or department.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching within the primary education sector, particularly at KS2 level.
- Demonstrable knowledge of early childhood education principles and curriculum requirements for Key Stage 2.
- Strong behaviour management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire pupils.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
- Experience or training in safeguarding procedures, with a clear understanding of child protection protocols.
- Previous experience or training as a SENDCo is highly desirable.
