Brio Leisure centers are community fitness hubs where anyone and everyone can get active, whether it’s in the gym, swimming pool, a fitness class or playing racquet sports.
As a Sports Attendant, you’ll be making sure the building is secure and inspecting our facilities prior to use, ensuring they are set up properly. You will also undertake building checks and health and safety tests and ensuring the environment is clean and safe at all times, reporting any problems to the Manager. A friendly nature and good communication skills are important!

Job Purpose
To undertake activity set-up as per facility programme. Ensure that the building is kept clean and tidy in accordance with the site cleaning schedule, ensuring compliance with the relevant legislation.
Main Responsibilities
To ensure all areas and activities are opened, set up, inspected and locked as per the facility programme and in accordance with the daily rota.
To comply with the Operations Manual, to undertake building checks and to ensure the appropriate accident and defects reporting procedures are followed.
To provide a high standard of customer care at all times. To present a friendly, efficient and helpful service to the public.
Undertake cleaning, washing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning, emptying of litter bins, polishing and dusting of the designated areas including catering and toilet areas, fixture and fittings using appropriate equipment and cleaning products.
Use appropriate chemicals provided for the use of cleaning in the correct manner and within the specific COSHH regulations.
To use any machinery provided to carry out your duties. Also ensure that all machinery used is cleaned and stored in the correct manner in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
To be a Sports Attendant, you will ideally need:
- Basic knowledge of cleaning methods
- Basic knowledge of Health & Safety and COSSH regulations
- A positive outlook and excellent customer service skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of working with children and vulnerable persons ideally in a Leisure Centre environment
- The ability to work on your own and as part of a team to include working days, evenings, and weekends.
