Overview
We are seeking a Kitchen Porter/Assistant to join our busy kitchen team on Friday's and Saturday's. This role is vital in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced hospitality setting and eager to develop their skills within the food service industry. Previous experience is not essential, as full training will be provided.
*DAY TIME ONLY VENUE, NO NIGHTS*
Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans promptly and efficiently
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
- Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment to meet health and safety standards
- Supporting the organisation of storage areas, including stock rotation and inventory checks
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures
- Ensuring all health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times
- Supporting the team during busy service periods by helping with serving or other duties as required
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential
- Familiarity with food preparation and cooking processes is desirable
- Experience working in a busy kitchen or catering setting will be beneficial
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills are essential for success in this role
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are important for maintaining hygiene standards
