We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Mechanic/MOT Tester to join our professional team. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues and ensure compliance with MOT standards
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engines, brakes, suspension, and electrical components
- Use hand tools and power tools efficiently to carry out repairs and diagnostics
- Carry out MOT testing in accordance with legal requirements and industry standards
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and services performed
- Assist in diagnosing complex mechanical problems using specialised equipment
- Ensure all work is completed within specified timeframes while maintaining high-quality standards
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment
Skills
- Level 3 IMI (or equivalent)
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for repair work
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment
- Excellent diagnostic skills to identify faults accurately
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Valid MOT tester certification is desirable but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates
