This is an excitingopportunity to manage our kitchen in a family business, very Little late nights, not having to work every Saturday or Sunday. Help with menus and specials. To work alongside our other 4 chefs / cooks. We pride ourselves on being a family run business for over 20yrs fosteringpositive staff relationships.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee our kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in culinary arts and restaurant management, ensuring that all food preparation meets our high standards of quality and presentation. The Kitchen Manager will play a pivotal role in supervising kitchen staff, maintaining inventory, and fostering a positive work environment that prioritises hospitality and teamwork.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks and food preparation personnel.
- Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen procedures.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Monitor food costs and waste to ensure efficient use of resources.
Skills
- Proven experience in a kitchen environment, with strong culinary skills.
- Excellent leadership abilities with experience in supervising a team.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary trends.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- A passion for hospitality and commitment to providing high-quality service.
- Experience in bartending is an advantage but not essential.
