Proactive Personnel Ltd are currently recruiting for experienced Fabricator Welders and Welder Repairers to join a leading manufacturer within the commercial vehicle sector based in Stoke-on-Trent.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure a permanent position with a well-established and growing business that manufactures and repairs high-specification commercial trailers and vehicle bodies for a range of nationally recognised customers.
The Role
As a Fabricator Welder / Welder Repairer, your responsibilities will include:
- Fabrication and welding of trailer chassis, decks, and structural assemblies.
- Repair, modification, refurbishment, and rework of commercial trailers and vehicle bodies.
- Working from engineering and fabrication drawings to produce high-quality work.
- MIG welding steel components up to 12mm thickness.
- Using hand tools, air tools, and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship while working to production schedules and deadlines.
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with company quality and safety standards.
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a Fabricator Welder, Welder Repairer, or similar welding/fabrication role.
- Strong MIG welding experience on mild steel.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
- Experience using a range of fabrication and workshop tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with plasma cutting, stainless steel, or alloy welding would be advantageous but is not essential.
Pay & Benefits
- Competitive pay rate of £13.50 - £19.50 per hour, dependent on experience.
- Night shifts paid at 1.3x the standard hourly rate.
