Overview
NGS Security is recruiting a professional, service-driven Security Concierge to support student living facilities. This hybrid role blends traditional security functions with a high-touch, hospitality-style concierge service. The successful candidate will ensure the safety and security of the property while delivering a welcoming, front-of-house experience that makes residents and guests feel at home.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk & Customer Interaction
- Greet and assist residents, guests, and contractors warmly, providing directions, amenity support, and event registration.
- Deliver professional, hotel-style service with empathy and discretion.
- Support resident engagement by assisting with events, parcel handling (where permitted), and lifestyle requests such as arranging taxis or dry cleaning.
Access Control & Safety
- Manage access systems and monitor CCTV to ensure resident safety.
- Conduct regular building patrols, reporting findings digitally with photos and notes.
- Respond promptly to intruder, fire, and personal safety alarms.
- Remain alert and proactive in loss prevention, reporting suspicious behaviour immediately.
Emergency Coordination
- Take the lead during fire alarms or emergencies, coordinating evacuations and liaising with emergency services.
- Deliver first aid where required until professional help arrives.
- Complete accurate incident reporting and contribute to post-incident reviews.
Sales & Engagement Support
- Conduct structured room viewings for prospective residents, confidently presenting property features.
- Support the sales team by handing over leads and promoting the property’s premium service standards.
Reporting & Professionalism
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, visitors, maintenance requests, and patrols.
- Use digital systems for reporting and ensure confidentiality at all times.
- Act as a trusted liaison between residents and site management.
Requirements
- Valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding) - Mandatory
- Right to Work in the UK (no student visa or restricted permits) - Mandatory
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in PBSA, high-end residential, hotel, hospitality or concierge roles would be ideal
- Fluent spoken and written English with excellent communication skills
- Strong IT skills and competence in digital reporting systems
- Availability for night shifts and flexible weekend coverage
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergencies effectively
Desirable Certifications
- First Aid (training provided if not held)
- Fire Warden (training provided if not held)
- Mental Health First Aid (training provided if not held)
Additional Information
- Applicants must be able to commute reliably outside of normal public transport hours due to the shift requirements.
