Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursery Support Assistant to join our early childhood education team. This role involves providing personalised support to children within a nursery setting, ensuring their developmental needs are met with care and professionalism. The successful candidate will work closely with children, staff, and parents to foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. Previous nursery experience and a passion for working with children are desirable for this position. Hourly rate from £12.81 for unqualified practitioners.
Hours:
30 hours per week 8am-4pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
Responsibilities:
- Offer one-to-one support to children with specific care or developmental needs, ensuring their individual requirements are met effectively.
- Assist in implementing personalised learning plans under the guidance of senior staff or early childhood educators.
- Support children's emotional well-being by providing reassurance, encouragement, and positive interaction.
- Supervise children during activities, playtimes, and mealtimes to promote safety and engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and behaviour as required.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and deliver engaging activities tailored to each child's interests and abilities.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Uphold health and safety standards within the nursery environment at all times.

Desired Qualities:
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare practices.
- Level 2 or 3 Early Years Childcare.
Must have:
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a team and independently when required.
- Compassionate attitude with genuine interest in child welfare and development.
