About the Role
A specialist SEN school in Redhill is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to teach and support children and young people with a range of additional needs in a well-resourced, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
The school caters for pupils with Autism (ASC), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), speech and language needs, and associated communication difficulties. You will deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that enable every pupil to make meaningful progress both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs
- Adapt teaching strategies to support EHCP outcomes and personalised learning plans
- Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Support pupils' academic achievement, communication, emotional wellbeing, and independence
- Use a range of sensory, practical, and communication-based teaching approaches
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress and attainment
- Contribute to annual reviews, EHCP meetings, and wider school development
- Promote positive behaviour through consistent and supportive strategies
What We’re Looking ForEssential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching in a primary, secondary, or SEN setting
- Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills
- Ability to differentiate learning for pupils with a range of additional needs
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Patient, adaptable, and resilient approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable:
- Experience supporting pupils with ASC, MLD, SLD, PMLD, or speech and language needs
- Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, AAC, or sensory learning strategies
- Experience within a specialist SEN school or alternative provision
- Understanding of personalised, communication-focused teaching approaches

Pay: £201.84-£322.53 per day
