About the Role
A specialist SEN school in Redhill is seeking a caring and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to support children and young people with a range of additional needs in a nurturing and well-resourced environment.
The school supports pupils with Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), speech and language needs, and complex learning needs, with a strong focus on communication, independence, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
- Support learning activities both inside and outside the classroom
- Assist pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction
- Support the implementation of EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
- Promote independence, confidence, and life skills development
- Use positive behaviour management strategies to support engagement
- Support pupils with personal care where required
- Contribute to a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking ForEssential:
- Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
- A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Commitment to supporting pupils with complex learning needs
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable:
- Experience within an SEN school or specialist provision
- Knowledge of ASC, SLD, PMLD, SEMH, or communication needs
- Experience using PECS, Makaton, or AAC systems
- Background in care, support work, youth work, or education

Pay: £97.68-£108.75 per day
