Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating forklifts to handle materials, manage shipping and receiving tasks, and support overall warehouse operations. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to perform heavy lifting efficiently. The ideal applicant will have previous warehouse experience and be committed to maintaining a safe and organised work environment.
Duties
- Operate forklifts to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse
- Manage shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and handling of goods
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory and update records
- Conduct basic maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed
- Handle materials carefully, ensuring proper stacking and storage in accordance with safety standards
- Assist with inventory counts and organise stock locations for optimal efficiency
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Support the overall organisation of the warehouse by maintaining cleanliness and orderliness
Requirements
- Valid counterbalance forklift licence is required
- An additional reach forklift licence is advantageous
- Previous warehouse experience, including materials handling and shipping & receiving
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and troubleshooting
- Ability to perform basic maths for inventory management and measurement tasks
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
This role is 40 hours per week Sunday to Thursday shift. The start and finish times for Sundays are 8:00 to 16:30 . The start and finish times for Mondays to Thursdays are 10:00 to 18:30
Pay: £28,516.80 per year
