Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Children's Residential Support Worker (Night Staff) to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care and support to children in a residential setting during night shifts. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and development of children, working closely with colleagues and external professionals. Responsibilities
- Supervise children overnight, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
- Support children with daily routines, including bedtime and morning preparations
- Implement and follow individual care plans tailored to each child's needs
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to promote positive behaviour and development
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, incidents, and activities during your shift
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies regarding children's wellbeing
- Assist with organising activities that promote social skills and personal growth
- Ensure the residential environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming for children at all times
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in a childcare or residential setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of child development principles and childcare practices is advantageous
- Ability to develop rapport with children from diverse backgrounds
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members, children, and external professionals
- Competence in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transportation duties but not mandatory

Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour
