The Role
We're looking for a pro-active and resilient HR Advisor to join our small, dynamic HR team based in Newbury. This is a busy, operationally focused advisory role where no two days are the same.
As the first point of contact for managers, you'll play a key role in supporting the business through expert HR advisor across the full employee lifecycle. You'll work closely with operational teams, gaining exposure to all areas of HR, including employee relations, recruitment, TUPE and compliance - making this an excellent development opportunity for someone looking to broaden and deepen their HR experience.
This role is primarily office-based with regular site visits, so a full driving licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted HR advisor, providing confident, pragmatic guidance to managers and staff
- Manage and support a high‑volume, end‑to‑end recruitment process across multiple business areas
- Deliver effective onboarding and support ongoing training and development initiatives
- Advise and actively participate in employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances and performance management
- Support TUPE processes for incoming and outgoing contracts
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies and best practice
- Carry out DBS checks for new and existing employees
- Maintain accurate HR records and systems in a fast‑moving environment
About You
- CIPD qualified (or working towards)
- Previous experience in a hands‑on HR advisory or generalist role
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
- Confident communicator, able to influence and build relationships at all levels
- Highly organised, adaptable and comfortable working at pace
- Practical, solutions‑focused and happy to roll up your sleeves
- Confident using HR systems and databases
- Full UK driving licence
