Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bodyshop Painter to join our automotive repair team. Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply primer, base coats, and clear coats using spray guns and other painting equipment.
- Match colours accurately and blend paint seamlessly for a uniform finish.
- Perform minor body repairs prior to painting, including filling dents and smoothing surfaces.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored after use.
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently, including the correct handling of paints, solvents, and other chemicals.
- Inspect finished work for quality assurance, making necessary touch-ups or corrections as required.
- Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and uphold workshop standards.
Skills
- Proven experience as a bodyshop painter or in a similar role within an automotive environment.
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle body components and repair processes.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as sanders, scrapers, and masking tape applicators.
- Competence with power tools including spray guns, grinders, and polishers.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or painting equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for colour matching and finishing quality.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently.
