We are currently looking for two new staff to join our growing team. You will be working as part of a two or three person team and together you will have responsibility for the year long maintenance of a number of sites. These include housing estates, business premises and a small number of private gardens. The main duties of the job are cutting grass using mowers and strimmers, pruning shrubs, trimming hedges, weeding, litter picking and general duties associated with keeping grounds looking good.
In the growing season we work 45 hours a week from Monday to Friday. In the winter we work 21 hours a week spread over three days. Most overtime is voluntary but at the height of the growing season we expect people to be a little bit flexible and we may ask you to stay on to complete a job from time to time. All extra work is paid at overtime rates. Weekend working is available for volunteers and it is well rewarded.
We are Living Wage Accredited and pay your basic wage in twelve equally monthly instalments (fortnightly if you prefer). Therefore, there is no drop in wages in the Winter, despite the much shorter hours. The starting salary is £27,072 which includes an attendance bonus of £100 per month. This equates to £2,256 per month or an hourly rate of £14.20.
You can enrol in our pension scheme and you will be provided with a full uniform and PPE.
A full UK driving licence is ESSENTIAL for this post and you must have less than four points.
If you have experience of this type of work it may be beneficial. However, if you have never done this type of thing before, provided you are physically fit, we will provide the training you require.
Please note that this is not a seasonal job but full-time and salaried. We have two depots, one in Inverness and one in Conon Bridge and we try to put everyone to their preferred place of work.
