Teaching Assistant - KS1

Hartley Brook Primary Academy is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Key Stage 1 team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in supporting pupils at an important stage in their learning journey.
Working closely with teachers and wider staff, you will help pupils access the curriculum, build confidence and develop independence in a nurturing and inclusive environment. You will contribute to a positive and engaging classroom, supporting both academic progress and emotional wellbeing, while building strong relationships with children, families and colleagues.
Key responsibilities include:-
Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and engaging fully in learning activities

Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and promote independence

Assist in the implementation of Personal Provision Plans and monitor pupil progress

Prepare classroom resources, materials and displays to support teaching and learning

Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ emotional wellbeing

Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to meet pupils’ individual needs

Participate in playground duties and enrichment or extracurricular activities
What we are looking for:-
Experience working with or caring for children, ideally in an educational setting

A good understanding of child development and effective learning strategies

A patient, adaptable and inclusive approach to supporting all pupils

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families

Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning)
