The Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Qualified Secondary Maths Teacher (QTS) to join our established team.
You will work with small groups of children, delivering engaging, tailored lessons that inspire a love of learning. Our structured yet flexible approach allows you to focus on teaching, while we manage the day-to-day administration.
The role is for a Year 9/10 group and a Year 7 group and we are looking for someone who can explain difficult concepts clearly, build confidence and help pupils think deeply.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, age-appropriate lessons tailored to individual needs
- Teach small groups of up to 4 pupils of similar age/ability
- Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to create engaging learning experiences
- Monitor, assess, and document pupil progress against curriculum expectations
- Identify and address barriers to learning, adapting teaching accordingly
- Build positive relationships with pupils and their families
- Attend parent meetings (twice per year) to discuss progress and development
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management and maintain a positive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider team
- Attend annual staff training and benefit from ongoing support and guidance from our experienced team
- You will deliver two bespoke, small group lessons on the same Monday evening, one starting at 5pm and at 6pm.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children at all times
- Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures, including reporting concerns appropriately
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with children and families
- Ensure all sessions are delivered in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment

Person Specification Essential
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching within the UK school system
- We welcome applications from experienced Secondary Maths teachers and from Primary teachers with strong Maths knowledge.
- Ability to explain concepts clearly, build confidence and help pupils develop a secure understanding of Maths.
- Ability to plan and deliver fun, engaging, differentiated lessons
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
Desirable
- Experience teaching 11+ / verbal and non-verbal reasoning
- Experience working with small group or intervention teaching
- Confidence using ICT systems (e.g. Google Drive)
