Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable self employed HGV Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and vehicle care. Experience with flatbed and commercial driving is highly desirable. Duties
- Deliver goods to specified locations efficiently and punctually, adhering to scheduled routes.
- Conduct pre-journey inspections of the vehicle, including checking tyres, brakes, lights, and load security.
- Ensure all cargo is properly secured and complies with safety standards before departure.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance needs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, following health and safety protocols.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies to promote safe driving practices at all times.
Experience
- The driver will need to have Left-hand drive experience within the UK
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role.
- Prior experience with flatbed vehicles is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided.
- Knowledge of local roads, routes, and traffic regulations within the region.
- Demonstrable ability to operate large vehicles safely and efficiently over long distances.
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial vehicles; a clean driving record is preferred.
