Our service has a strong multidisciplinary approach with extended roles, including medicines administration and advanced practitioner roles. HHFT is a fast-follower in the Digitalisation of Hospital Services, with a strong foundation of > 20 years of electronic prescribing. We have two acute general hospitals (Royal Hampshire County Hospital and Basingstoke & North Hants Hospital) and a community hospital (Andover War Memorial Hospital) to provide a wide range of clinical services to the population of North and Mid Hampshire, and to the wider health system as a tertiary referral centre for Pseudomyxoma peritonei.
- To lead and improve systems to ensure the effective induction of all staff
- To lead, develop, deliver and evaluate the Pharmacy Business Unit provision for staff undertaking recognised pharmacy courses and provide information required for external funding of training courses
- To work with local, regional and national training providers to ensure quality training programs are in place, clear competencies are measured, and training is audited
- To work with the Divisional Pharmacy Team, internal & external customers to ensure effective planning, scheduling, delivery and monitoring of service access, activity and quality targets. To identify reasons for deviations and take responsibility for the service for development and implementation of possible solutions.
- To lead, manage and deliver the Pharmacy Audit Programme: ensuring compliance with national guidance and patient safety directives, and contributing to risk management alongside the Trust’s Medicines Safety Officer and Deputy Chief Pharmacist.
- To ensure the effective management and development of all staff allocated for line management, including ensuring that all staff members have an annual appraisal and development review, managing attendance and performance, and identifying and facilitating staff training needs.
Lead on the department strategy for incorporating new IETs and responsibilities for Pharmacy graduates, including competency assessment.
