Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team 1 day per week. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and providing exceptional patient care. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of clinical tasks, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting in the overall management of the dental practice.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough dental cleanings and periodontal treatments to maintain optimal oral health for patients.
- Perform assessments of patients' oral health, including taking medical histories and recording vital signs.
- Utilise 3D technology to assist in creating dental treatment plans.
- Provide education to patients regarding proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Use dental imaging to capture high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
- Collaborate with dentists and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure that all dental instruments and equipment are sterilised and prepared for use according to safety protocols.
- Enhance the patient experience.
Qualifications
- Valid Dental Hygiene licence or equivalent qualification recognised in the UK.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy related to oral health, including teeth, gums, and surrounding structures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on oral health matters.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- A compassionate approach towards patient care, ensuring comfort and understanding throughout treatments.
