Duties
- Greet and seat guests promptly with a warm and friendly attitude.
- Take accurate food and drink orders using the restaurant’s point-of-sale system.
- Assist in food preparation when necessary, ensuring adherence to food safety guidelines.
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently, ensuring that all orders are delivered accurately and timely.
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, utensils, and the dining area throughout service.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during peak hours.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally, striving for complete satisfaction.
- Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed within service periods.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and processing payments accurately.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods.
- A passion for culinary arts and an eagerness to learn about menu items.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage positively with guests and team members alike.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
