Job Title: Dementia Support Worker & Driver (Split Shift / Dual Role)
Location: Bromley & Orpington
Hours: Part-Time / Full-Time opportunities available.
- Split shifts: Morning pick-ups and afternoon drop-offs.
- Full-day shifts (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM) when required as an Activity Support Worker.

Pay Rate:
- Hourly Rate: £12.71 – £14 per hour (Depending on care experience).
- Guaranteed Minimums Hours in Every Shift
- Full-Day Progression: Candidates with a background in health or social care will be fast-tracked to full-day shifts (including the 10am–4pm club hours)
Role Overview:
The Rainbow Care Group is an award-winning, premium dementia day care service. We are seeking a warm, reliable, and proactive individual to join our team in a dual capacity as a Driver and Activities Support Worker.
You will be the face of our service—safely transporting our wonderful members to and from the club using the company van, leading them on exciting local day trips, and stepping onto the club floor to assist with meaningful social activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Transportation & Driving (Company Van Provided)
- Safely operate the company vehicle to manage morning client collections and afternoon drop-offs.
- Strictly follow personalized client mobility directives (e.g., ensuring specific walkers/rollators are used carefully during car transitions).
- Drive members on scheduled local day trips and excursions (such as pub visits or community gardens) ensuring safety and enjoyment at all times.
- Perform basic, routine safety checks on the company van (fuel, tire pressure, cleanliness) and report any issues to the Operations Manager.
2. Club Activity Support (When on-site)
- Assist the Club Supervisor in running a vibrant, engaging, and dignified day care environment.
- Support members to participate in cognitive stimulation games, arts and crafts, music sessions, and group discussions.
- Maintain our premium 1:4 person-centred care ratio on the floor, ensuring the environment remains clean, safe, and free of hazards.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Driving Licence: Full, clean UK Driving Licence held for a minimum of 3 years (Comfortable driving a small-to-medium-sized company van).
- Experience: Previous experience in elderly care, dementia care, or a professional driving role is highly desirable. Candidates with a care background will be prioritized for full-day shift allocations.
- Attributes: Exceptional patience, empathy, and communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive transitions with anxious clients.
- Compliance: Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
