An exciting opportunity has arisen for a customer-focused Account Manager to join a growing and highly regarded organisation operating within the education and public sector space. This Account Manager role offers the opportunity to work closely with schools and suppliers in a consultative, relationship-driven environment.
This is a non-sales Account Manager role, focused on advising customers, managing procurement processes, and delivering an exceptional service rather than generating new business. The Account Manager will act as a key link between schools and suppliers, guiding customers through purchasing decisions and ensuring a smooth and compliant process from enquiry through to delivery.
About the Role
In this Account Manager position, you will manage customer enquiries from schools and trusts, helping them source IT and software solutions through a structured procurement framework. You will gather requirements, liaise with suppliers to obtain quotes, and manage the full process including running mini competitions, coordinating tenders, and supporting contract delivery.
This role involves regular interaction via Microsoft Teams, working collaboratively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams in a fully remote environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage customer enquiries from schools and trusts
- Act as the main point of contact between customers and suppliers
- Gather detailed requirements and provide tailored solutions
- Source and compile supplier quotes in line with framework processes
- Run mini competitions and support tender processes
- Coordinate contracts, documentation, and onboarding processes
- Build strong, long-term relationships with customers and suppliers
- Maintain accurate records and reporting within internal systems
- Support continuous improvement of processes and customer experience
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience in account management, customer service, or a consultative role
- Experience working with the education or public sector (highly desirable)
- Understanding of procurement or purchasing processes (desirable)
- Experience working with SaaS, IT, or technology solutions (desirable)
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
- Confident communicator, particularly via Teams and virtual meetings
- Calm, professional, and solutions-focused approach
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
