Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Support the kitchen team in food production, ensuring timely delivery of orders
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work stations in compliance with food safety regulations
- Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring consistency across all dishes served
- Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times, including proper handling of ingredients and equipment
- Contribute to menu development by suggesting new ideas and improvements
- Assist in stock control, including receiving deliveries and storing ingredients appropriately
Requirements
- Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
- Experience in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Passion for culinary arts and a keen interest in developing professional skills in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, serving procedures, and hospitality practices is advantageous
