Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef/Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
- Support the supervision of kitchen staff and coordinate team activities during service
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with health regulations
- Manage food production processes, including portion control and inventory management
- Serve food efficiently to guests, ensuring excellent customer service at all times
- Assist with organising kitchen operations, including cleaning schedules and stock replenishment
- Support the training of new team members in food preparation and safety procedures
- Contribute to menu planning and suggest improvements based on customer feedback
Skills
- Proven experience in a culinary or hospitality environment, preferably within a restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills
- Supervising experience or leadership qualities to manage team members effectively
- Excellent understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail in food production and presentation
- Team management skills with the ability to motivate colleagues and foster a collaborative work environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and assist across various kitchen duties as required
