Female Support Workers
We are looking for a female support worker to work 26hrs (hours can be built up in one of our other Northumberland services)
Are you passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives? We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and experienced Support Workers to join our team in a specialist service supporting adults with mental health conditions, complex needs, and challenging behaviours.
This role is both challenging and rewarding, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. You’ll be part of a dedicated team providing consistent, person-centred care and support to help individuals live as independently and safely as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, empathetic support tailored to each individual’s needs and goals.
- Support individuals with daily living tasks, personal care, and community activities.
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support (PBS) strategies and training.
- Build trusting, professional relationships that promote dignity, respect, and personal development.
- Work collaboratively with health and social care professionals, families, and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including support plans and risk assessments.
- Promote mental and emotional well-being through active listening, encouragement, and structure.
- Assist in crises and follow risk and safeguarding protocols effectively.
About You
Essential
- Empathetic, calm, and patient approach with strong communication skills.
- Driver
- Confident working in unpredictable situations and managing behavioural incidents.
- Understanding of safeguarding, person-centred care, and mental health frameworks.
- Able to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in or waking night shifts.
Duties include:
- Supporting independent living skills; assisting with personal care, shopping, and meal preparation.
- Facilitating community participation and access.
- Handling and managing medication administration.
- Managing finances and record-keeping.
- Reporting any Safeguarding concerns.
- Attending and participating in Training
- Working with MDTs to deliver person-centred support.
