About Us:
Situation on the coastline of Northumberland in a landscape rich with golfing history, Alnmouth Village GC proudly holds the distinction of being the oldest 9-hole course in England. Blending heritage, character, and natural beauty, our club offers a truly unique playing experience to members and visitors alike. We pride ourselves in currently having some of the best quality greens in the UK throughout all 12 months of the Golfing season. We are now seeking 2 part time Greenkeepers on a seasonal contract to aid the care, maintenance, and enhancement of our historic course. Hours worked can be negotiated from 10-24 hours a week depending applicants needs.
The Role:
As Assistant Greenkeeper the role is to assist in maintaining the high-quality of the putting surfaces throughout the full year. Help achieve the highest standards of course condition while balancing tradition with modern greenkeeping practices. Follow instruction from the Course Manager about tasks & projects to be completed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in all aspects of course maintenance and development.
- Maintain the high quality of putting surfaces all year long.
- Operate course machinery and irrigation systems safely and efficiently.
- Be part of environmental and sustainability initiatives in line with club values.
- Follow all health and safety standards.
About You:
- Previous Experience in Greenkeeping / Horticulture / Grounds Person.
- Ability to Drive.
- Good understanding of traditional turf management alongside modern techniques.
- Passionate about golf course presentation, heritage, and sustainability.
