The Opportunity
Are you a passionate educator dedicated to unlocking the potential of students with Autism? Tempest Resourcing is partnering with a high-achieving Special Educational Needs (SEN) school to find a resilient and creative ASD Teacher for the upcoming academic year.
We are looking for someone who understands that "one size does not fit all." You will be leading a small class of students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated complex needs, providing them with the structure, support, and inspiration they need to thrive.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Tailored Curriculum: Plan and deliver highly differentiated lessons that cater to individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Communication Support: Utilize PECS, Makaton, or AAC devices to facilitate student voice and engagement.
- Behavioral Support: Implement positive behavior management strategies and nurture a predictable, safe classroom environment.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with a team of dedicated Teaching Assistants, Speech & Language Therapists, and Occupational Therapists.
- Assessment: Monitor and record progress using P-Levels or small-step tracking frameworks.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential (ECTs with strong SEN placements are welcome to apply).
- Proven experience working with pupils on the Autistic Spectrum.
- A deep understanding of sensory processing needs and de-escalation techniques (e.g., Team-Teach or Price).
- A patient, empathetic, and "can-do" attitude.
