Job Summary
We are seeking a self-employed gardener to provide professional gardening and landscape maintenance services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture, experience with various gardening techniques, and the ability to work independently. This role involves maintaining gardens, planting, pruning, hedge trimming and ensuring outdoor spaces are aesthetically pleasing and healthy. Flexibility and a proactive approach are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve outdoor gardens through planting, pruning, weeding, and fertilising.
- Use hand tools such as secateurs, spades, and rakes to carry out gardening tasks efficiently.
- Operate power tools including lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers for landscape maintenance.
- Assist with landscape design projects by providing expert advice on plant selection and placement.
- Conduct regular inspections of outdoor spaces to identify issues such as pests or disease and take appropriate action.
- Manage time effectively to complete scheduled tasks within agreed deadlines.
- Maintain a clean work environment by clearing debris and ensuring tools are stored safely after use.
Requirements
- Proven experience in gardening, horticulture or landscape maintenance with a strong growing knowledge base.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, irrigation systems, and general garden equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Good organisational skills with the capacity to plan daily tasks efficiently.
- Physical fitness to perform manual labour including lifting, digging, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driving licence is preferred for transporting equipment or travelling between sites.
- A genuine passion for gardening and an eye for detail to deliver exceptional results.
Pay: From £13.50 per hour
