What you’ll do
The Stores’ Assistant will support the Stock Controller in the efficient operation of the stores and warehouse function, ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, movement, and dispatch of materials to support production and customer requirements. The role is critical in maintaining stock accuracy, ensuring on-time delivery of products, and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the business.
Key responsibilities
- Receiving and dispatching of stock from suppliers and to shop-floor operatives
- Receiving goods into stock and counting items against supplier delivery notes
- Maintain good housekeeping of the store areas, including moving and re-arranging of large boxes and bulky items
- Manage the packing and dispatching of all goods to customers and sites including manual handling
- Packing and labelling of all finished goods including strapping of boxes/pallets
- Carry out routine stock level counts/audits
- Load and unload vehicles safely using manual handling equipment and forklifts where authorised and trained
- Booking couriers via an online portal and arranging necessary documents
- Liaise with our Project Managers to ensure they are kept updated regarding deliveries/delays etc
About You – What you will bring to us
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Computer literacy
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Customer focused
- Self-motivated and ability to work with limited supervision
- Flexible and enthusiastic
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence (or willingness to undertake training)
- Experience using ERP, MRP, or warehouse management systems would be beneficial
