Job Summary
Shoreline, a busy waterfront bar & restaurant in Newport-on-Tay, is seeking an experienced waiter / waitress to join our friendly front-of-house team.
Located on the banks of the River Tay, Shoreline offers a relaxed yet fast-paced dining environment, stunning views, and a loyal local customer base.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly on arrival and manage reservations efficiently
- Provide high-quality table service throughout the guest experience
- Take food and beverage orders accurately, offering menu recommendations where appropriate
- Serve food and drinks in a timely, professional, and courteous manner
- Ensure tables are clean, well-presented, and prepared for incoming guests
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately, following correct procedures
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales
- Maintain excellent standards of food safety and hygiene at all times
- Assist with basic food preparation and kitchen duties when required
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest queries or concerns
- Support colleagues during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is essential
- Confidence in table service, order taking, and guest engagement
- Knowledge of food safety standards; basic food prep skills advantageous
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Friendly, professional, and well-presented with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy services
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
