Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Assistant to join our team on a AD-HOC basis to care homes around the area.
This role involves providing high-quality support to residents in care homes across leek and surrounding areas such as Stoke-on-Trent. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering person-centred care, ensuring the comfort, safety, and wellbeing of those they assist. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about making a positive difference in people's lives while developing their skills within the health and social care sector.
Responsibilities
- Assisting residents or clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Supporting individuals with their care plans to meet individual needs and preferences
- Providing companionship and emotional support to residents or clients
- Monitoring health conditions and reporting any concerns to senior staff
- Helping with medication administration as per care plans and training (If employed as a senior)
- Maintaining accurate records of care provided and observations made
- Ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all residents or clients
- Communicating effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals
Skills
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and documentation purposes
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support others’ wellbeing
- Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately
- Valid driving license is desirable for roles involving home visits or transportation duties but not essential for most roles
