MUST HAVE GENERAL HAULAGE EXPERIENCE
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Transport Planner to join our family haulage business Monday to Friday 8am-5/5:30pm, and obtain the work phone outside of hours for any issues outside of office hours. The successful candidate will be responsible for booking, coordinating and pricing general haulage work for 15 trucks of various sizes around the UK. This is a demanding role with time sensitivity and prioritisation needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in logistics within the general haulage industry
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook - IT literacy is essential
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to manage employees
- Customer service orientation with a professional attitude towards clients and colleagues
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Computer literacy including familiarity with logistics management software is desirable
Duties
- Implement efficient transport routes, considering delivery deadlines and vehicle capacities
- Coordinate with drivers to ensure adherence to schedules and optimise utilisation of fleet
- Manage documentation related to deliveries, including manifests, invoices, and compliance records
- Utilise Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook) for planning and reporting purposes
- Communicate effectively with clients, drivers, and suppliers to facilitate smooth operations via email and telephone
- Analyse logistical data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies

Pay: £35,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
