Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager to oversee Wrap Around Care services based in Drayton/Cosham, Portsmouth. this a job share with another manager and a 70 place setting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating after-school and holiday club activities, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team, develop programmes, and make a positive impact on children's development and wellbeing. The ideal applicant will possess strong organisational skills, childcare experience, and the ability to communicate effectively in both English.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Wrap Around Care team to deliver high-quality childcare services in accordance with organisational policies and standards.
- Plan, organise, and oversee daily activities, ensuring they are fun, educational, and suitable for children of various ages.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and conducting regular risk assessments.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to foster a supportive community atmosphere.
- Coordinate with schools in Drayton and Cosham to ensure smooth transition of children between school and care settings.
- Manage administrative tasks including attendance records, activity planning, and communication with parents.
- Support children's individual needs through personalised care plans when necessary.
- Assist with organising special events or outings as part of the programme.
Qualifications
- Qualified in childcare, nannying, teaching or similar roles within a childcare setting.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with children, parents, colleagues, and external partners.
- A recognised childcare qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare) is required and complemented by relevant experience.

This role could be a job share 3 days a week. we can offer reduced rate for childcare if you have a child aged 3-11 years and can be term time role or 52 weeks a year.
