The Role We are recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistants to join a consistent 2:1 care team supporting an independent 24-year-old male with complex care needs in Croydon.
He leads an active and social lifestyle, enjoying travel, gigs, coffee trips, walks, cricket, good food, and community activities. He also runs his own travel business and is passionate about social media and accessibility advocacy.
This role focuses on promoting independence while delivering high-quality, person-centred care both at home and in the community.
Duties include personal care, medication support, moving and handling, mobility assistance, physiotherapy exercises, and supporting social and recreational activities. You will also support hydrotherapy and swimming sessions, so confidence in swimming is essential.
Night shifts include supporting bedtime routines, providing reassurance and emotional support, monitoring comfort and wellbeing, repositioning when required, and responding calmly during periods of anxiety or dystonia.
We are looking for fun, outgoing, reliable, and compassionate individuals who can build a positive, professional relationship while supporting him to live life to the fullest.
Key Responsibilities
You will provide person-centred care, including:
- Supporting with personal care and medication
- Assisting with moving and handling and clinical needs
- Encouraging independence and daily living activities
- Supporting social outings and community access
- Providing support during both day and night shifts
- Promoting comfort, safety, and emotional wellbeing
What We’re Looking For

3 months’ care experience
- Confidence with medication, personal care, and moving & handling
- Clear communication skills
- A full UK driving licence (required for day shifts)
- Comfortable working in a home with pets
- A caring, patient, and adaptable approach
